How to Balance Self-Care With Your Remote Side Hustle

pyrateheartpress • Apr 21, 2022

Starting a side hustle can be a great stepping-stone towards running your own business full-time or even just making some extra cash along with your main vocation. Either way, keeping up with a side hustle means dedicating a large chunk of your free time to maintaining a small business. Practicing good self-care habits can be a struggle as you try to balance a side hustle with a full-time job, family obligations, and any other important facets of your life. When the effort to keep so many responsibilities in check seems overwhelming, The Pyrateheart Press has a few tips you can remember to ensure you’re taking proper care of yourself.

Mind Your Physical Health

The most important self-care considerations you can make are towards your own physical health. Exhaustion, sluggishness, and lack of focus are just a few possible warning signs that you may be neglecting to take proper care of yourself amidst your many obligations. Even when you feel that you don’t have enough hours in the day, it’s vital to make time for proper nutrition and sleep. Expert recommendations suggest that eight hours of sleep is the ideal range for just about every age group. Daily exercise is another way to promote physical and mental health while contributing to improved sleep as well.

Make Time for Hobbies and Relaxation

When you commit to building your own business or side hustle, you may develop a guilty conscience for spending time on leisure activities while you could be working on your brand. As any successful entrepreneur is aware, though, downtime and relaxation are essential. Even if you can’t make time for your hobbies every day, giving yourself a break or a weekend to enjoy some relaxing activities may be beneficial in ways you never realized.

Another key to a relaxed mind is a clean and decluttered home. Taking care of any organizational issues in your living space sooner rather than later will make for a positive atmosphere when business becomes stressful.

Maintain Social Connections

It can be hard to juggle multiple social circles even if you aren’t engaging in a part-time side hustle. Introducing more responsibilities in the mix will make it difficult to interact with all your friends and loved ones. It would be a mistake to neglect the important people in your life, though. Focusing too much on work can lead to feelings of isolation. Furthermore, your friends and family can act as a support group during any tough times that may come during the growing phases of your side business.

Strive for Business Efficiency

There’s one obvious fact that’s easy to overlook when you’re trying to create a work-life balance : If your business is going well, you’ll have much less to worry about in other areas of your life. Among the most useful tips you can follow to keep your side hustle running smoothly, perhaps the most important is to utilize meticulous scheduling. Managing your time and accomplishing tasks in an assigned timeframe will lead to commercial success while also granting you peace of mind when you’re “off the clock.” Self-care is a vital trait for entrepreneurs. If you’re a small business owner, or even just running your own little side hustle, your health is a necessary resource that you can’t afford to be without. Taking the proper steps towards preserving your physical and mental well-being will help provide the energy you need to maintain an effective work-life balance.

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
