New Tools in My Toolbox!

pyrateheartpress • May 04, 2020

I’m so excited!  While Ross works with the authors editing and preparing eBooks for publication, I help with the marketing and social media part of the business.  The fun part to all of this is there have been many webinars and even an Instagram Masterminds course that I’ve participated in to get myself up to speed quickly in these various platforms in order to get the biggest bang for our money and our time.

It was during these webinars and the Instagram Mastermind course that I learned about the new two tools that I’ve added to my toolbox.  These days, with our business growing the way it is, anything I can do to save time and money while providing a professional looking social media post is a win for me!  The two new tools are Magisto and PromoRepublic .  If you are a small growing business and taking on the marketing of your business, yourself, check these out!

Magisto is a video editor program.  I’m really enjoying working with this program.  One of the nice things I’ve discovered about Magisto is there is also an APP that can be downloaded to your phone that will give you the ability to post videos to your Instagram account.  I found this to be especially valuable because I have so much trouble posting videos to Instagram from my laptop.  Magisto has libraries to fit your editing styles and a vast musical library so you can add music to your videos.  I also have the ability to upload images that I create in Canva and videos that I make of myself or Ross.  The overall process to create a video really does only take about ten minutes.  Further, the finished product is fantastic.  Of course, this is the initial learning curve, but the program is very easy to learn and basically you just follow the steps.  And the price is within my budget.  Win win!!!!  Check out the example video below that I created of my typical day.

PromoRepublic is a marketing tool geared towards the scheduling and managing of the flow of social media content and it is so amazing!  Not only can I connect to all of my social media platforms, but I can calendar the postings.  This program includes metrics about the success of the posting and when the best times are to post on each the social medial platforms based upon my content.  There is a calendar of the odd holidays and provides suggestions for posting content.  It’s almost like this program got into my business and spit out a marketing plan for me.  It also has the capability, similar to Canva; to create images with backgrounds, text and colors to create posting images.  I can sit and spend a day creating my postings and schedule them for the week or month and not have to worry that I missed something.  This program saves me time and the cost is also within my budget.  Here is a screen shot of my past calendar.

The time and energy it takes to build a business is incredible.  Having the tools in the toolbox to reduce time spent in some areas to free up time to promote my business is invaluable.  Both Magisto and PromoRepublic do this for me.  I’m excited to use them and the other nice thing about them is that they are cost effective.  They both add a new level of professionalism and time to my business that I wasn’t expecting.  And just so you know, they are not paying me for this.  I believe in sharing, so check them out.  They may be great marketing and time saving solutions for you too!

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
