Did you notice?

It’s a good question. I want to know. Did you notice we didn’t post a blog on Friday?

Hahahahahahaha. I bet you didn’t. Friday was one of those days. I just ran out of oomph. We had so much going on that when it came time for me to create a new blogpost I couldn’t. Here at PHP we have been marketing our butts off, developing launch parties and press releases, and rushing to complete Heirs of the Blood Queen in time for its release date of the 20th.

That’s right, Heirs of the Blood Queen hits the shelves tomorrow. First thing if I remember correctly. I am so happy we completed it on time. Don’t know what I am talking about? Haven’t you seen our social media posts and Facebook ad? Please tell me you’ve at least seen a tweet or a Pinterest post? Something on Instagram?

Well now, I think I will go crawl up into a ball and cry. Don’t believe me? Good. It’s not my style. Besides, I know you have seen some sort of post about Heirs of the Blood Queen.

Let me catch you up if you for some strange reason haven’t. Heirs of the Blood Queen, or HOTBQ as I have grown used to calling it, is a first for us. When we started the Pyrateheart Press, PHP for short, it was with the understanding we would handle adult content only. We decided our niche in the publishing world would be to publish the stuff no one else wanted to touch.

That lasted about a year as we went from being an uncensored publisher to an unabridged publisher to our first young adult book.

The book contains nothing anyone should be able to object to. Something I find unusual for us since we have an eight-page disclaimer for the majority of our works. It is a good story. The book follows the ever changing lives of the Warren siblings as bombshell after bombshell disrupts their lives.

One day all is bright and cheery in their idyllic existence and the next? The next thing these three young adults do is find themselves at a murder scene. Their mom’s. Once that bombshell begins to fade another goes off. This time they discover they have magical powers. They can levitate things, freeze time, and listen to other peoples thoughts. And that is just the beginning of what they find they can do.

The final bombshell to go off in their idyllic world is they learn their mother was the most powerful witch who ever existed. A witch who bore the title of Blood Queen.

That’s just the beginning of their adventures. It’s an eBook geared towards young adults who love supernatural stories. It’s a good one where each chapter leaves you wanting more. I did.

It’s also a book I took down to the wire in my editing. Each book I work on require different levels of editing and proof reading. I took my time with this manuscript to ensure we did our best work. The cover is excellent, the opening hooks you and the story flows. All in all, I am proud of the story C.S. Patra created and am equally proud of the eBook we helped craft.

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
