Flash Fiction

Flash Fiction

I adore flash fiction. Stories told in as little as two sentences. Good stories. Ones which make you think. Which is why I often troll the internet for places which post flash fiction by amateur writers. Good flash fiction is awesome stuff. When its over, your left feeling like you want more. Much more. But you don’t need it because the story has already been told.

I often use flash fiction as a means to create new stories. A form of writing prompts if you will. A source for story ideas. One of those treasures I have found online which possess tons of such flash fiction is a new website I found filled with the occult, the horror, and the supernatural in stories crafted by great imaginations.
Th website is called the occult museum. It’s located at:

http://www.theoccultmuseum.com/.

I found it on Pinterest looking at a single piece of flash fiction containing just two sentences. Here it is:

I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy, check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”

I liked it so much I looked it up online. Here is the internet address for this and twenty-nine other pieces of flash fiction can be found for your enjoyment: http://www.theoccultmuseum.com/30-scariest-two-sentence-horror-stories-to-read-in-the-dark/

I don’t know who the author is but if anyone finds out let me know so I can give them the proper shout out here.

Another internet site to look at if your running low on ideas and need a boost of flash fiction to get your creative juices flowing is located here: https://flashfictionmagazine.com/

This is a good source of great writing. Their subject matter runs the gamut and its interesting. It makes your mind think. Really think when you deal with such small stories.

If you are looking for erotica or hardcore erotica flash fiction, then I think another site is for you. This one is:

Or try this one: https://www.literotica.com/s/flash-fiction

These are only the briefest of places to look for flash fiction. Good flash fiction isn’t hard to find. You simply need to settle on what it is you want and go get it.

Another good source for flash fiction of multiple genres is: https://bookriot.com/flash-fiction-stories/

One of my favorite styles of flash fiction is single sentence stories. One of those I find haunting is by Ernest Hemingway. Here it is: For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

Sometime in the near future we will open up the Pyrateheart Press’s newsletter to submissions for one or two sentence flash fiction stories create by you our readers. I look forward to seeing what story you can tell in a single sentence.

I’m Ross, The Editor-in-Chief of The Pyrateheart Press and I’m out.

P.S. We have received no compensation for our recommendations of the above web sites. They are just something Ross found as a source of some good stories and good writing. You may like them, you may not. We hope you do the work and find your own sources and perhaps share some of them with us. Thanks - Ross

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
