About the Author:

Author Sophia Grey is a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom moonlighting as a creative fiction writer and poetess. She is a lover of historical fiction and cozy romances, until October rolls around and she becomes solely immersed in the supernatural tales of ghosts and witches. Sophia lives in Washington State with her supportive husband and their two delightful children.

Finding Her Voice:

Having grown up under the watchful eyes of three generations of Trenton feminists – her suffragist great-grandmother, a Rosie the Riveter grandma, and a hippie Women’s Lib mother – it was only natural for Allie to step into the role of activist and follow down the same path.

The course of life never did run smoothly. It took only a slight deviation to send Allie’s carefully constructed plans spiraling out of control. Now in her forties, she is standing on the precipice of what could be her most monumental decision of all. Moving forward would bring her the peace she has sought for so long. But it would also close the chapter to over 100 years of the Trenton family legacy.

Every life has its story. To write her own ending, Allie knows she must summon the strength to grab hold of her destiny. This final rite of passage could prove the most challenging, and the most liberating, yet.

It was finally time to find her own voice.

Reviews

I found Finding Her Voice to be informative and thought provoking. Having lived through some of this in my lifetime, it took me through a range of emotions, making me reflect on the decisions I made that did affect the loved ones around me. It was a good book, easy to read and worth the time. Audrey S.

"What a wonderfully written narrative of the challenges and trials women have faced throughout generations, and a glorifying testament to woman’s ability to overcome! The author’s style provides us the insight to know these women personally, understand the hardships they endure, share in the victories they achieve, while also placing in us the desire to stand by their side and fight for the issues of the day. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of motherhood as a women’s rights issue worth defending and fighting for. Too often this choice of lifestyle for women has been laid by the wayside, deemed not worthy of inclusion in defining a successful woman. The author clearly demonstrates that motherhood is a worthy and acceptable choice to be celebrated and does not minimize the struggles woman have overcome in their quest for freedom. Well done Sophia Grey!" Nicola M.

This is a book that will stick with me for a long time!

In a world that wants to dictate who she is and who she’ll become, Allie rises above to become her own person, with her own dreams and goals.

This book reveals the other side of the women’s movement- those who are proud to be women and mothers and support the role of families. In a free society, where women have equal rights, shouldn’t we be empowered to choose this option too?

It also sheds light on our need to understand our own family history- to help us understand how their past shapes our life and future.

I am truly inspired and blessed for reading this story of triumph over adversity, and of a young woman breaking free of her past to become a success, and the woman she was meant to be!

I enjoyed how the writer expressed herself without having to overdue the details. It was written clearly with good descriptors so that you could really feel the character.

Transitioning between generations was clear and the story line was not only educational but interesting. She explained the points of view of the different generations and how

we are currently dealing with a bit of hypocrisy. I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow book worms.

Publisher Review of Finding Her Voice

A beautifully written novella. There were moments that I couldn’t put the book down. I really connected with the main character and was emotionally drawn into the story. Sophia Grey did a great job building the suspense to engage the reader into the politics of women’s rights and the private lives of the women who fought those fights. ~ The Pyrateheart Press.

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
