Welcome back for the next installment of The Peggy’s . In the first chapter we met Rowena Adair. A walking, talking hypocrisy in a cop’s uniform. Rowena is all but used up. A former Deputy Chief of Police in charge of Internal Affairs and Covert Operations, she worked both sides as an undercover agent to take down the massive corruption in her own city’s police force.

Unfortunately for Rowena, she was doing some side hustles on her own during this time frame which ultimately led to her downfall. You can’t have the person who is responsible for taking down the corrupt be corrupt herself.

She made a deal with the new police commissioner to take a demotion down to sergeant assigned to the cold case office and stay on the force until she could retire at thirty three years. A goal just four short months away.

That is until a body appeared. A body which takes Rowena back to her days as a homicide detective. Back to a case which was infamous the world over. Something the papers dubbed “The Beasts of Bangor Park” but what Rowena called “The Peggy.”

In chapter two we get to see what this dead body is all about. We meet someone who might become her nemesis or a good friend. We see what drives Rowena and what she knows will happen to her because of this case. She is sitting in a bad place. A trap designed by someone she has not met yet, but who she needs to find so she can elude the trap and escape.

How will this happen? Who does Rowena blame for all that has happened to her? What will she do to correct the issues in her life and more importantly, will she find the murderer who is mimicking a serial killer long dead?
