What Now?

I wanted to take this time to tell everyone what was happening at The Pyrateheart Press and what they can expect in the future.
Right now, as you all know, we have recently published the eBook Finding Her Voice. An interesting read with a unique story. I liked the story which is why we published it. That is something I can always guarantee you. If we don’t like a story, we won’t publish it. It’s as simple as that.

Finding Her Voice falls into a unique genre meant for women who want to explore what it means to be a woman in America and what it took to get there.

For us we were glad to publish it. It is unique and we like unique. Something else unique going on at the Pyrateheart Press is the publication of the eBook Heirs of the Blood Queen Volume 1. What’s so unique about it? Well, it is a supernatural story for young adults. We never thought we would ever publish an eBook designated for young adults.

I mean. Us older adults can read it. I have several times. I like the story and I like the way the author leaves each chapter as a cliff hanger. I have always enjoyed such stylistic approaches to writing. Especially when used in such a genre as supernatural books.
However, our original intention when we started was to publish uncensored eBooks. Books meant for a mature audiences only. So mature we even designed an eight page disclaimer for those who bought the books to read before they read them. How far we have come here at The Pyrateheart Press.

We have to. When we started, we didn’t realize when we said uncensored most of the world thinks porn. Sure, we sell some hardcore erotica. But it isn’t all we sell. We delve into romances and the supernatural. We have thrillers and Christian books as well.

Talk about controversial? Sell Christian eBooks that don’t conform to the modern-day version of happy endings and what church going Christians want to read?

I sent the first draft of Ronnie’s Revenge out a year ago for our beta readers to look at. They passed it onto others I hadn’t meant to read the eBook. The results were interesting. Many condemned the eBook. Those who condemned it were the church goers. The ones who weren’t church goers praised the eBook. They liked the story and accepted the harshness of the reality the book offered.

Ronnie’s Revenge in in development and hopefully will come out soon. We haven’t set a date for its release, but it will be available hopefully before next June.

Another eBook which has been in development a long time is Quincy’s Seductive Tune. Book 2 of the Pan’s Naughty Flute series. The eBook has gone back and forth between me and the author, Miranda Cummings, more than it should have. It is a great story and a great addition to the series but? Well, the author and I haven’t seen eye to eye on the story line. In fact, we have taken issue with the series. So, what was the solution we needed to free up Quincy?

Me. I told the author what was needed on the broad strokes. Then I left her alone to fill in the blanks. The Pan’s Naughty Flute series is a hardcore erotica series. A uniquely feminine outlook on a supernatural event which affects men and women alike.

Feminine is the key. I had gotten too involved in the writing and not enough in the editing. I needed to step back. Step away actually and let Miranda’s voice be heard. Let the story be hers alone as she needed to tell it. My involvement is still the editorial process. However, what you will find in the second book of the series is Miranda and not me.

Up next as I said earlier is the Heirs of the Blood Queen Volume 1. The cover reveal is on Wednesday. I am quite proud of the cover. My wife did an excellent job of creating it. She makes incredible covers. I will delve into the eBook in another blog post. Suffice it to say I am pleased with the outcome and look forward to the feedback we will be getting from our beta readers.

In December we will be offering Book 2 in the Cheyenne Dances in Moonbeams series titled The Rescue of Rhonda. The beauty of this eBook is although it takes off where The Trouble in Nunya leaves off, it is a stand alone book. You don’t have to have read The Trouble in Nunya to read this one. However, we encourage you to read the first in the series as always. Hint hint.

I am so pleased with the final manuscript of The Rescue of Rhonda. It is a different approach to a thriller. A thriller filled with supernatural undertones. The Rescue of Rhonda will keep you wanting more as you read the pages. As you see the world through the eyes of its main character.

Look for the excerpts soon as we approach December.
That’s it for now. I will keep you posted on new events and new stories. Who doesn’t like new stories? Or old ones reinvented and re-imagined.

I’m Ross, The Editor-in-Chief at The Pyrateheart Press and I’m out.

Most people who tell others they are authors work independently from the requirements of corporations or even normal jobs. Their job is to create. To craft stories we want to read.

It’s a good question. One I have heard many times in my life. Usually after somebody does something no one approves of. Yet, regardless of the situation, the question remains the same. Do people change?

I have discovered many things recently. The very first is I love the bed and breakfast we stayed in for our anniversary. It is an inventive idea for a bed and breakfast type place. The rooms are actual cabooses. That’s right, railroad cabooses.
