I love cartoons. In fact, I drew on one cartoon as an inspiration for my new story Gargoyle. The name of this cartoon? Gargoyles. Of course, since it was created by Johnathan Frakes from Star Trek: The Next Generation, who once worked for Stan Lee; I thought it was worth looking at. I still do. Take a look:

Now of course nowhere among any generation has there been a better cartoon than the Looney Tunes series with the voice talents of Mel Blanc. Take a gander at a Looney tunes collection right here:

Some of my favorite memories with my son involved cartoons. I worked nights for years. Decades really and when I would get home from a twelve-hour shift on a Saturday morning he and I would settle in and one of those cartoons we enjoyed was He-Man. Take a look here:

Then of course there’s Batman:

And lest we forget, Tom and Jerry. I loved Tom and Jerry:

Now we come to a cartoon I adored. It is a bit of cinema magic really. A poor line who changes himself to convince the dot he loves to come away with him. It was produced in 1965 and it still rings true today:

Who can forget Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax. I hope you don’t after you watch this:

Finally, we have a clip I have watched several times. I love guitar music. Love guitar battles but what better guitar battle than Bob and Megabyte from Reboot:

There are so many great cartoons out there from yesteryear. None better than Scooby-Doo. One of my all-time favorites is Scooby-Doo. Yet, the age of Saturday morning cartoons has vanished. The cartoons we are offered these days suck for the most part.
The reason there are no more Saturday morning cartoons was they were removed for being too violent. Someone decided they were an inspiration to children to become violent. Strangely enough, the amount of violence has risen since the cartoons have been removed.
I personally watched the Road Runner meet his end a gazillion times and never once wanted to go out and end someone. Though I did want the ACME catalog he bought all his toys from.
I miss those Saturday mornings.
